Things to watch out for
We have in our files a small case with about $10,000.00 due a disabled veteran. Another company, ever quick to berate our percentage based agreements, bid $12,000.00 to find the man! We undertook the case, found the man, charged him a modest fee that put the bulk of the money in his hands.
And be careful that you don't end up paying for "results" consisting only of raw data requiring substantial investigation on your part to complete the case. We have seen this happen...an estate was presented with a bill for $5000.00 for "results" which consisted of numerous sparsely typed pages of information about persons with the same surname as the decedent, but absolutely nothing to identify the missing heirs. So "results" is not always success....
WE WORK TO THE STANDARD OF YOUR COMPLETE SATISFACTION WITH OUR WORK. IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED, WE ARE OWED NOTHING. This is true whether we reach fee agreements with missing heirs or are working on a set fee basis for you. You, the fiduciary, are always completely indemnified.
When we say that we work on a contingent fee basis, we mean that our fee is contingent upon our finding the heirs and upon your being completely satisfied with our work. We would certainly challenge our ersatz competitor to find a "better way" than that.
PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE A SLICK AD CAMPAIGN WITH A SOLID REPUTATION.
