International Probate Research Association, Inc.
Josh Butler is a founding member and the current President of International Probate Research Association, Inc., a.k.a. IPRA, whose membership is made up of individuals and companies throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, working within the legal and probate research field.
IPRA is a corporation organized under "The General Corporation Code of Kansas", and under the applicable special Kansas statutory provisions.
The purpose of IPRA is:
- To promote and encourage the profession of Probate Research in accordance with the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct toward ourselves, our clients, the legal and financial communities and the general public.
- To meet regularly for the exchange of ideas and to formulate standards of conduct and ethical practices.
- To assure fair and honest dealings with heirs, beneficiaries and fiduciaries.
- To foster good will among all probate researchers and encourage non-members to adopt the high standards to which we adhere.
The following activities are among those implicitly forbidden by the above statement of purpose:
- Knowingly advancing the interests of unauthentic heirs.
- Failure as a fiduciary to promptly pay heir-clients.
- Failure to promptly pay fees to cooperating firms.
- Any writing, utterance or action intended to weaken or nullify
contract between a member and its client.
